The Leicestershire district is horrified by the far right , racist , islamophobic attacks and rioting that have taken place recently. We stand in solidarity with all those affected and their families.

We send our condolences to the families of the children killed in Southport.
We strongly condemn the cynical use of their deaths by far right groups intent of sowing division and spreading their message of hate.

As  educators and trade unionists , we have a responsibility and moral imperative  to build a better and fairer society. A society where there is zero tolerance of all forms of islamophobia,  antisemitism ,racism and xenophobia.

Together, let’s promote a message of unity and hope so the far right is defeated once and for all.
